President and members Region 36 IPA,

I wish to thank Clarence and Susan Hightower for organising
my visit to Houston, Mary Jones for hosting such a lovely evening
to meet IPA members and quilters in the region and most of all
Allen and Mary Jane Rogers for being my hosts while in Houston.
I was visiting Houston to attend the International Quilt Festival
and what a difference it makes when you can meet and stay
with local people. I was so lucky to be able to stay a night with
Allen and Mary Jane in their lovely new home. Mary Jane even
presented me with a very large bunch of beautiful yellow roses
and a large bowl of fresh fruit in my hotel. Clarence and Susan
showed me the city on the one day I had free.

I have never been to Houston before and what a lovely city
you have.  I felt at home and safe as soon as I arrived, people
were so friendly and helpful. At the end of 10 days I left the city
exhausted but unable to get the smile off my face. Now I hope to
be able to visit your beautiful city more often.

Thank you so much Region 36 you really know what the spirit of
the IPA is all about.

Best wishes,
Lorraine Baker
